Berkeley Espresso is a lively coffee shop located slightly West of campus. It is furnished with small tables that are big enough for one person to work or two people to chat. In addition, there is bar seating, but there are no couches. Durning the day the large windows provide plenty of light, but at night it is not as well lit as other coffee shops.

They sell vegetarian and nonvegetarian sandwiches as well as several pastries. Sandwiches are $4-$5.

One of the major benefits of Berkeley Espressso is the free wireless internet. There are lots of outlets into which you can plug your laptop, but you should bring your extension cord.

Note that it can often be difficult to find a free table; however, many people are willing to share if you are brave enough to ask. Beyond sharing, your only option is to stand around waiting to grab a table the instant it becomes free.
