There is NO life before coffee!

There are perhaps too many coffee shops whose names derive from coffee puns, but this is one of the more original.

Located on the north side of campus, uphill.

They offer a variety of drinks: coffee, tea, chai iced or not, thai iced tea, smoothies. Besides their usual selection of pastries, they sell packaged vegan/vegetarian-friendly ones. They offer calzones and sandwiches for lunch.

Tables are large and well-lit from sun and overhead lights; you'll usually have to share with a stranger, but there's enough room to ignore one another. There are some smaller tables, and a couch area.

Wifi isn't free unless you are a Cal student. They use Surf and Sip, which costs $5/24 hours.

Clientele is a mix of undergrads, grads, and professionals.
