Inner Richmond

From SFWiki

The Inner Richmond is bound by Arguelo Blvd to the East, Park Presidio to the West, Golden Gate Park to the South and The Presidio to the North. It is well known for its wide array of ethnic restaurants and large Asian population. Sometimes referred to as a "second Chinatown", its population contains not only a large Chinese community, but also Vietnamese, Korean, Thai and other Asian nationalities, as well as sizable Russian and Irish populations. The Inner Richmond is a medium density neighborhood, mostly consisting of two and three story homes, apartment buildings and businesses. It is among the largest sections of San Francisco not served by rail, but compensates (somewhat) with several cross-town bus routes, including express commuter services. Geary Blvd serves as an East-West artery, while Park Presideo runs North-South connecting the neighborhood to the southbound 280 and 1, and the northbound 101 which runs over Golden Gate Bridge.

Culturally and commercially, Geary Blvd and Clement Street are the heart of this neighborhood, containing the majority of restaurants, bars, cafes, and other businesses. Clement Street, in particular, provides a rich array of Asian culture, food and services. Restaurants include Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Burmese, Japanese, Ertirean, French, Italian, Irish, and American cuisine.
