Ritual Coffee Roasters is a popular place to do work in the Mission District. It is furnished with couches, tables and bar seating. However, the most notable thing about Ritual is its coffee. They use a gourmet brand, Stumptown Coffee, that is overnighted from Oregon several times per week.

They have free wireless internet and a decent number of power outlets, and, in fact, Ritual is somewhat known for the high-tech crowd that uses the cafe as a workspace. Wired Magazine recently featured Ritual in an article: Cafe 2.0: After the Gold Rush.

It can often be difficult to find a free table (due to all the Web 2.0ers); however, many people are willing to share if you are brave enough to ask. Beyond sharing, your only option is to stand around waiting to grab a table the instant it becomes free.
