The Marina is the area on the North Coast of San Francisco. It is bounded by Fisherman's Wharf in the East, Union Street in the South, and The Presidio in the West. It is a yuppie haven, with many upscale houses, boutiques, and restaurants. It is sometimes associated with a certain type of person (The Marina Girl, for one), and is generally accepted to be quite preppy.
